HPL/HDPE

High Pressure Laminate and High Density Polyethylene (HPL and HDPE)

What is HPL?

High pressure laminate (HPL) is a strong core material. It is a truss-based, resin laminate, processed under heat and high pressure.

HPL is surface abrasion resistant, and therefore often used in facades for larger building complexes; for example hotels, shopping centres, etc.

In other applications, it is typically used as a wet weather panel, fire-retardant facades in corridors (especially in shipping), in commercial buildings – and so on.

What is HDPE?

High-density polyethylene (HDPE) is an environmentally friendly, non-toxic plastic coating. For extra preservation of exterior gloss and colors throughout the play area’s intended use. Good resistance to UV radiation and chemicals/salts. Used in large parts of the industry, and is well proven over a number of years.

As you can see from the above, the product properties are better than traditional ground plywood.

If your aim is to maintain the visual qualities of your play area, specifically in terms of finish and gloss, the price premium is cost-effective.
